In a volunteer-based project being spearheaded by the Social Innovation Institute, Video Tax News, and the BC Centre for Social Enterprise, we are designing and delivering a one-hour webinar introduction to Investing in Social Enterprise.

This free session is targeted to front line professional advisors (public accountants, lawyers, and financial advisors) involved with the decision-making and estate planning processes of small- to mid-sized businesses and individual / family investors across Canada; with the goal of educating the group of individuals that are positioned to advise those with investible assets, to consider investing in social enterprise.

The webinar will be accompanied by a directory of social enterprises and supporting organizations in Canada, so that the participants can take meaningful next steps. Click here if you would like your social enterprise or supporting organization to be included in this list.

To enhance the knowledge and interest of Canada’s front-line financial advisors, we will also feature short and punchy ‘sound bytes’ from experts in the sector, such as yourself.

If you have a moment, we ask that you consider these questions, and jot down a 240-character (roughly ‘Twitter-length’) response. Feel free to answer both, or just the one that most resonates with you.

#1 What is the top piece of knowledge you would share with a professional advisor (public accountant, lawyer, financial advisor) who is not familiar with social enterprise?

#2: What is the top piece of knowledge you would share with a potential investor or entrepreneur looking to engage in social enterprise?

Please forward your responses to summer@videotax.com for compilation purposes. We would like to give you credit for your comment (and also give the readers context) so please include your name, organization, and role.

While some of the pieces will be used in the webinar, ALL will be made available to the sector, including to anyone signed up to receive eNewsletters from the BC Centre for Social Enterprise. Sign up at the bottom of any page on this website.
